Evidence and Impact Manager

Base – Flexible (Home working in first instance until lockdown restrictions are lifted)

Permanent Contract

35 hours per week (Hours can be worked flexibly and some evening and weekend work is required)

Salary £33,640 – £39,576 per annum

Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland’s only national independent membership organisation for Care Experienced people. Our mission is to secure a lifetime of equality, respect, and love for Care Experienced people in Scotland and we currently have over 3000 members.  

Who Cares? Scotland works alongside Corporate Parents and others to broaden their understanding of care and challenge stigma experienced by Care Experienced people. We create opportunities for people with lived experience of care to influence policy makers, leaders, and elected representatives locally and nationally to shape legislation, policy and practice.

This post is a key role within Who Cares? Scotland and will support the Director of Influencing to successfully implement the influencing strand of our current strategic plan (2018-2022), building on the aspirations of The Promise, and securing positive change. The overarching purpose of this role then is to strengthening how the organisation takes a human rights-based approach to data collection and how we use our extensive evidence base to help influence policy and practice for our Care Experienced membership.

Additionally, the post holder will lead and have responsibility for a small team, and will ensure that the evaluation of Who Cares? Scotland’s activities are in line with the organisation’s key priorities, demonstrating impact and ensuring we continually learn from our work.

To carry out this role you will have a proven record of the ability to analyse, scrutinise, interpret, and present complicated information to a wide range of audiences. You will have a background in impact evaluation or academic experience in a discipline involving social research skills and understand the importance of having a robust evidence base in helping to influence positive change.
