Real Living Wage, £9.00 per hour

Who Cares? Scotland is the country’s only national independent, representative membership organisation for Care Experienced people.  Our vision is of a Lifetime of Equality, Respect and Love for Care Experienced people.

This is an exciting new opportunity to work with Who Cares? Scotland and nurture and develop the West Lothian Champions Board.  This role supports the work of the Central team, working alongside the Development Officer and Advocacy and Participation Manager.  The Participation Assistant will help to ensure that young people with care experience are empowered, championed and supported to realise their potential and live a life full of success and one they are in control of.

The West Lothian Champions Board was established to help Care Experienced young people have a voice and a platform to achieve change.  The Champions Board works to educate all Care Experienced young people on who their corporate parents are and what responsibilities they hold. The group also work to break down barriers between corporate parents and young people.  The post holder is expected to promote the Champions Board and their work and help empower Care Experienced young people to turn their experiences into positive change for all West Lothian Care Experienced young people.

We are looking for someone who has good communication and group working skills, effective time management skills, and a creative approach to problem solving. The successful candidate will understand issues that affect young Care Experienced people, and passionate about empowering young people to have their voice heard and drive change.

To be eligible for this role you must be Care Experienced.

Interviews will take place on Monday 23rd September.
