Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland’s only national independent membership organisation for Care Experienced people. Out mission is to secure a lifetime of equality, respect, and love for Care Experienced people in Scotland and we currently have over 3000 members.  

The post holder will support the work of the Corporate Parenting Partnership in Aberdeen and work alongside our Development Officer (DO), our Advocacy and Participation Worker (APW) and identified Corporate Parent partners in Aberdeen. The post holder will help to enable children and young people with care experience to feel empowered, championed and supported to explore their views and voice, and raise them within the Corporate Parenting Structure so that real change can happen to improve the lives and opportunities of care experienced children and young people.

The right candidate will be compassionate, empathetic, and understanding of others, offering a safe and inclusive environment. The Aberdeen team is made up of introverts and extraverts – so you’ll fit in whether you’re a bit quiet, a lot loud or a bit of both. What’s most important is that you are passionate about changing things. You should be open to new ideas, curious about how the world works and excited to make relationships with new people. The post holder will also be trustworthy, reliable, and have good organisational skills in order to promote and support all aspect of the work of the team and the Corporate Parenting Partnership in Aberdeen.

The successful candidates will join our friendly team and will be supported to learn new skills and develop their confidence through our fully comprehensive induction and training packages, as well as receiving holistic support from our Lifelong Opportunities Team who will help you achieve your next career or education goal at the end of your role.

This post is funded through Community Jobs Scotland, therefore, to be eligible, you must be *Care Experienced, aged between 16 – 29 years old, be unemployed at the time of application, and not be undertaking further education for the duration of the post.

*(The term “Care Experienced” refers to anyone who has been or is currently in care. This care may have been provided in many different settings, such as: Kinship care, looked after at home, residential care, foster care, secure care – living in a secure unit, and adoption).
