Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland’s only national independent membership organisation for Care Experienced people. Out mission is to secure a lifetime of equality, respect, and love for Care Experienced people in Scotland and we currently have over 3000 members.  

The post holder will be working on the ‘Communities that Care’ project within the Renfrewshire team, reporting to the ‘Communities that Care’ Project Coordinator. The goal of the ‘Communities that Care’ project is to ensure that communities grow up understanding care experience, and that Care Experienced people feel accepted and included within their communities. The post holder will support the creation of opportunities for engagement of activities, as well as being responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks to support this team.

The right candidate will be compassionate, empathetic, and understanding of others, offering a safe and inclusive environment. The Communities that Care team is made up of introverts and extraverts – so you’ll fit in whether you’re a bit quiet, a lot loud or a bit of both. What’s most important is that you are passionate about changing things. You should be open to new ideas, curious about how the world works and excited to make relationships with new people. The post holder will also be trustworthy, reliable, and have good organisational skills in order to promote and support all aspect of the work of the ‘Communities that Care’ team.

The successful candidates will join our friendly team and will be supported to learn new skills and develop their confidence through our fully comprehensive induction and training packages, as well as receiving holistic support from our Lifelong Opportunities Team who will help you achieve your next career or education goal at the end of your role.

This post is funded through Community Jobs Scotland, therefore, to be eligible, you must be *Care Experienced, aged between 16 – 29 years old, be unemployed at the time of application, and not undertaking further education for the duration of the post.

*(The term “Care Experienced” refers to anyone who has been or is currently in care. This care may have been provided in many different settings, such as: Kinship care, looked after at home, residential care, foster care, secure care – living in a secure unit, and adoption).
