£29,909 – £36,943 per annum

Who Cares? Scotland is the country’s only national independent, representative membership organisation for Care Experienced people. Our vision is of a Lifetime of Equality, Respect and Love for Care Experienced people. Part of this is ensuring that Care Experienced people successfully enter, sustain and achieve in employment in roles that reflect their skills, talents and achievements.

The post holder will lead our national Lifelong Opportunities Programme. They will lead on the development of a network of strategic partnerships to provide Care Experienced people with aspirational employment opportunities from trainee to graduate and professional level positions. They will also consolidate learning from the Reaching Higher Traineeship programme, which since 2013 has provided Care Experienced Young People with paid employment in a safe environment. The postholder will lead on the development of two new exciting and dynamic programmes of work, one focusing on bridging the gap between education and employment, and the second focused on developing a training and consultancy model to support other employers to create life changing opportunities for Care Experienced people.

The right candidate will have a relevant degree, professional qualification and/or significant experience of leading and implementing strategy. They will have experience of motivating and leading a staff team. In addition, you will have significant demonstrable experience of leading successful programmes of work, meeting outcomes and targets and developing strategic networks. Experience working with Children and Young People is highly desirable.
