Lifelong Opportunities Officer (Employment)
Based North of Scotland with regular travel to Glasgow
35 hours per week – 18 month fixed term contract
£21,858 – £25,538 per annum

Working as part of our Employment Team, this role will support our Lifelong Opportunities Programme, designed to make a transformational difference to Care Experienced people across Scotland and beyond, through securing lifechanging employment opportunities. The post holder will work closely with trainees internally, ensuring they have a successful employment experience. The post holder will support the Reaching Higher Traineeship programme, which has been running since 2013 to provide paid employment in a safe environment for Care Experienced young people. This programme will continue to offer Care Experienced people entry level jobs, education and transitioning support.
The right candidate will have a relevant qualification, to a minimum HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF level 7) in a discipline related to working with children and young people, or equivalent work experience. They will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. They will be able to form positive working relationships with children and young people and build links with professional partners, and have a strong affinity for working collaboratively. The right candidate will have experience of supporting and implementing programmes of work and delivering on agreed outcomes. They will be comfortable managing and prioritising their workload to meet deadlines. They will be committed to children’s rights, inclusive working, equal opportunities, and believe that young people can make transformative change happen in their lives if given the opportunity. A full driving licence is desirable, due to the regional remit of the post.
