Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland’s only national independent, representative organisation for care experienced people. We represent care experienced people through independent advocacy (up to 26 years of age); membership and influencing work. Our vision is for care experienced people to feel equal to their non-care-experienced peers.   A crucial part of our representative role comes from the voices of our Membership as well as the experiences of those we support through advocacy.

The post holder will empower young people with care experience to lead the way in showing that care experienced young people should be championed, supported to realise their potential and live a life full of success and one they are in control of. They will support the development of a local Champions Board within the LA by supporting all members, including young people, local authority representatives and corporate parents, in the preparation for and participation at regular Champions Board meetings.

The right candidate will have a relevant qualification, to a minimum standard of HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF level 7) in a discipline related to working with children & young people, or equivalent work experience. The post holder will utilise and create opportunities for participation and engagement activities and projects e.g. creative group work, with care experienced young people – whilst supporting a range of PR, awareness-raising, events and other activities.
