Corporate Parenting, Training and Education Officer – Glasgow
£21,534 to £25,159, 35 hours per week
If you are motivated to create a society where children, young people and adults who have experienced Scotland’s care system feel included, championed, understood, active, equal, loved and most importantly that their voice matters then we want to hear from you.
Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland’s only national independent, representative organisation for care experienced people. We represent care experienced people through independent advocacy (up to 26 years of age); membership and influencing programmes. Our vision is for care experienced people to feel equal to their non-care-experienced peers. A crucial part of our representative role comes from the voices of our Membership as well as the experiences of those we support through advocacy.
With the First Minister recently committing to listening to 1000 care experienced voices in the next two-years, as well as commissioning the independent root and branch review of care in Scotland – it is vital that care experienced voices and experiences are amplified further and more regularly across Scotland. We are therefore recruiting for a range of roles at this very important and exciting time in Scotland across a variety of exciting programmes.
The Corporate Parenting, Training and Education Officer will deliver on a range of projects including training, conference inputs, facilitating workshops, campaigning and research. This will deliver real change for care experienced young people by holding corporate parents to account. The post holder will used a range of communication and engagement techniques and creative methods to deliver on this role.
