This is an exciting new opportunity to work with Who Cares? Scotland within the pioneering Communities that Care team in Renfrewshire. This role supports the work of the Community Development Coordinator and also the Youth Engagement Support Officer on the Care 2 B Active Changing Lives through Sport and Physical Activity project. The Participation Assistant will help to ensure that young people with care experience are empowered, championed and supported to realise their potential and live a life full of success and one they are in control of.
This will be an exciting and varied role, working on different projects within the community in Renfrewshire. This will include working with Care Experienced young people, working in schools, facilitating groupwork and developing tools and activities. This will also be an excellent development opportunity, as you will be supported to develop group facilitation skills, improve your communication skills and become great at building working relationships with children and young people.
The successful candidate will understand issues that affect young Care Experienced people, and passionate about empowering young people to have their voice heard and drive change. They will have a positive attitude and be keen to learn new skills, as well as being able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Ideally, you will also be interested in developing your youth engagement and community education skills.
This is a Community Jobs Scotland funded post, meaning that in order to eligible you need to be Care Experienced, aged 29 or under, and not currently in work or education.
