Who Cares? Scotland is the country’s only national independent, representative membership organisation for Care Experienced people. Our vision is of a Lifetime of Equality, Respect and Love for Care Experienced people.
The post holder will be a member of the Business Support and Communications team who are the team responsible for managing the organisation’s resources, communications, events, and reception functions. The post holder will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and reception tasks to support this team.
As you will be the first point of contact for anyone who gets in touch with Who Cares? Scotland by phone, email, or in person, the right candidate will bring a warm and friendly manner and a keen interest in working in a sociable, busy environment. The post holder will be compassionate, empathetic, and understanding of others, offering a safe, inclusive environment for anyone contacting the office. They will also be trustworthy, reliable, and have a willingness to learn.
If you want to help support all different aspects of Who Cares? Scotland’s work and are keen to develop your interpersonal skills, your IT skills, and your office experience, this is the role for you. The successful candidates will join our friendly team and will be supported to learn new skills and develop their confidence through our fully comprehensive induction and training packages, as well as receiving holistic support from our Lifelong Opportunities Team who will help you achieve your next career or education goal at the end of your role.
This post is funded through Community Jobs Scotland, therefore, to be eligible, you must be *Care Experienced, aged between 16 – 29 years old, be unemployed at the time of application, and not enrolled in further education beyond the start date.
*(The term “Care Experienced” refers to anyone who has been or is currently in care. This care may have been provided in many different settings, such as: Kinship care, looked after at home, residential care, foster care, secure care – living in a secure unit, and adoption).
