Each year at our AGM (Annual General Meeting), young people
vote on who’s going to be the Chair, Vice Chair and Young
Persons Representatives for the next year.
It’s the board’s responsibility to make decisions that
ensure Who Cares? Scotland delivers the best service
possible to young people.
The Chairperson has a really important role to play as they
actually ‘chair’ the board meetings. It’s a position with
lots of responsibility, but a real chance to make a
difference. To apply for chairperson you would normally need
to be on the board of directors for one year.
The Vice chair is also important because they assist the
Chairperson in his/her responsibilities and stand in when
they can’t make it to meetings. To apply for vice chair you
would normally need to be on the Board Of Directors for one
year.
The 8 Young Persons Representatives are really important
roles because you bring the voice of young people to the
organisation and to the board. You don’t need any previous
experience to be a Young Persons Representative.
All of these roles take commitment, as the board meet
together regularly, but you would be given full support. If
you’re interested in being a board member then speak to your
Who Cares? Scotland Young Persons Worker.
